News Death Notice

HALL, Sara Sue 80, of Oxford passed away April 1, 2013 at McCullough Hyde Memorial Hospital. She was born September 10, 1932 in Hamilton, OH to Clarence Russell and Edna May Kathryn (Bisdorf) Muncey. A graduate of McGuffey High School, Sue received her B.S. in Education from Miami University in 1954 followed by her Master's in Education in 1964. On July 10, 1954, she married Virgil Hall, Jr. who preceded her in death. She taught business classes first at Trenton High School then Talawanda High School. In 1967, Sue joined the faculty at Miami University teaching Office Administration and Systems Analysis. She retired in 1989 as Professor Emeritus. She was a member of Oxford United Methodist Church, The Hughes Society of Miami University, Historic Hopewell, Society of Miami Emeriti and a Life Member of Ohio Retired Teacher's Association and Butler County Retired Teacher's Association. In 1986, Sue provided a chapel in memory of Virgil Hall, Jr. at McCullough Hyde Memorial Hospital during their renovations. Besides her husband, Sue was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Thomas James Muncey. She is survived by special friends: Gary & Kathy Salmon, and their daughters Molly and Melissa of Oxford; Leta Roberson of Hamilton; Jean Marks of Oxford; sister-in-law Joanne Muncey of Wickliffe, OH; two sisters, Marian (Don) Hendricks of Nashville, TN and Betty (Ed) Kindoll of Oxford; numerous nieces and nephews. Services will be private. Sue will be laid to rest in the Oxford Cemetery. It has been requested that no flowers be sent, but donations are suggested to the .
