LANGHORNE, Lt Col (Ret) Donald Lee formerly of Clinton, MO, passed away, Tuesday October 1, 2013 at his home in Indianapolis, IN. A funeral mass will be held at 10:00am, Saturday, October 5, 2013 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 5692 Central Ave, Indianapolis, IN, Father Bob Simms will be officiating. Burial will be at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis, MN. Memorials may be made to Catholic Charities. Donald was born December 29, 1924 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Donald W. and Mary L. (Niles) Langhorne. He graduated from White Bear Lake HS in 1943 and from the University of St Thomas, St Paul, MN in 1951. On January 23, 1951, he married the former Winifred K. Arvidson. Donald was a career Air Force pilot and was a veteran of WWII and Korea. Donald had a lifelong passion for golf which began at the age of 14 caddying at the White Bear Yacht Club. Donald is survived by his sons, John (Sherry) of Bluffton, SC, Donald Jr. of Novi, MI, Peter (Tanya) of Cincinnati, OH; Daughters Cynthia (Jim) of Lakewood, WA, Mary (John) Loughery of Indianapolis, IN, Theresa (Randy) Spatharos, of Chapin, SC, his brother John of Atlanta, GA, his sister Elizabeth Zerby of Minneapolis, MN, 21 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Mary (Niles), an infant son Donald Frederick, and his beloved wife Winifred K. Langhorne in 2012. A mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, October 5, 2013 at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church 5692 Central Ave. Indianapolis, Indiana 46220.
