News Death Notice

SCHANIE, Jr., Ernest Age 80, passed away at Heritage Springs Friday, October 5, 2012. He was born in Hamilton on October 24, 1931, the son of Ernest and Mildred Schanie. Ernest served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He was a retired machinist from Sulzer Escher-Wyss. He enjoyed gardening, kart racing, working on cars, and watching the Cincinnati Reds. He is survived by his children, Karen Kim (Yoshi) Fukuda and Kurt (Emily) Schanie; grandchildren, Yokun (Nozomi) Fukuda, Ryo (Mari) Fukuda, Mai Fukuda and Nickolas (Shinobu) Fukuda; great grandchildren, Sakurako, Shunosuke, Kaoruko, Yuta and Lisa; and siblings, Kenneth Schanie, Harold (Sherry) Schanie, Jeanette (Ernie) Barns and Delano (Winnie) Schanie. He was preceded in death by his wife, Shizuko Schanie; parents; and siblings, Julia Newberger, Lillian Harding, John Schanie, Betty Rossi, Jean Singleton and Gloria Schanie. The family extends a heartfelt thank you to Richard Fox for his many years of loyal friendship. Also, thank you to the caretakers at Heritage Spring for their loving care. Visitation will be held 5-7pm, Wednesday, October 10, 2012, at the Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue. Funeral service will be 10am, Thursday, October 11, 2012, also at the funeral home on Millville Avenue. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park. www.browndawsonflick.com
