News Death Notice
ARMITAGE, Frederick B. age 65 of Middletown, Ohio, passed away Saturday, June 29, 2013 at the Atrium Medical Center surrounded with love and support from his family. Fred was born December 31, 1947 in Middletown, Ohio. He graduated from Middletown High School in 1967. He attended college in Coffeyville, Kansas. He worked at AK Steel where he retired from the Metallurgical Department after 33 years. Fred was a board member of the Middletown Lyric Theater where he appeared and produced different productions. Fred was a member of the Mason Lincoln Lodge, a Shriner and a Knight's Templar. He enjoyed spending time with his two grandsons, various sports such as fishing, softball and target shooting. Fred loved studying the Bible. Fred had a gift of storytelling and had a wonderful sense of humor. Fred never knew a stranger and all that knew him loved him. He was preceded in death by his mother Joy (Howard) Armitage, his father Arthur G. Armitage and Geneva (McCoy) Terrill, his sister Mary Murphy, sister Rita Terrill and brother Mike Terrill. He is survived by his wife Deborah (Hilboldt) Armitage; daughter, Melissa (Todd) Abell; his beloved grandsons Grant and Bradley Ashworth; sisters, Janet (Doug) Lakes, Linda (John) Stanton and Debbie (Kevin) Cartwright; and numerous nieces and nephews. Fred had numerous friends and family that offered support and comfort during his hard and courageous battle with cancer - including his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Mark and LeeAnn (Fawns) Hilboldt. A special thank you to his friend Dr. Scott Zollett, Dr. Albert Malcolm, Dr. Gary Brown, and Dr. Snedal Patel for their outstanding care and support. Thanks also goes to the wonderful staff of the Atrium Medical Center, Middletown Cardiovascular Associates, and Zollett Medical Associates for the wonderful care, comfort, and support they provided. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Wednesday at the Breitenbach- McCoy-Leffler Funeral Home. A visitation will be from 5-7:00 PM Tuesday at the funeral home.
