Obituary Condolences

News Death Notice

COPAS, Gladys Faye (Davenport) 12/23/1926 - 1/6/2013 Gladys went onward to be with God at 10:20 PM, January 6, 2013. She took her leave peacefully, with family at her side. It was on a cold December day in Franklin, Ohio in the year of 1926 that the 4th child of Sylvester and Lilly Lamb took her first breath of life and was given the name, Gladys Faye. Gladys spent her youth as a simple country girl, living and flourishing at her parent's farm. Being the fourth of nine children, Gladys knew and understood the meaning of family, love, Christianity, responsibility, care and compassion. She would carry this understanding through the remainder of her life. The vast number of people that came to know Gladys can attest to the great attributes she displayed in her everyday life. Gladys was known widely as an astute believer in God and the power of prayer. Gladys brought three boys into this world; Kenneth Marion Davenport in 1946, Everett Sylvester Davenport in 1948, and Gregory Thomas Davenport in 1950. Gladys was a proud, protective and doting Mother to three of her greatest lights in life. A truly great lady has left our presence. Gladys was preceded in death by Kenneth C. Davenport, Francis M. Copas, Kenneth Marion Davenport and Everett Sylvester Davenport. Left to grieve are; Gregory Thomas Davenport and family, 7 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, 1 sister, 4 brothers, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
