News Death Notice
FLICK, Howard R. age 91 of Fairfield passed away at his residence on Wednesday, August 21, 2013 at 2:48 PM. He was born in St. Clair Township on July 19, 1922 the son of John Howard and Rachel (Moore) Flick. Howard was a veteran of World War II with the U.S. Army and was employed as a machinist at Armco Steel for more than 35 years. He was a member of New Miami Church of Christ. On September 28, 1940 he married Myra J. Ewen. Howard had a passion for the game of baseball and enjoyed both playing and coaching for many years. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing and hunting. He is survived by his wife, Myra J. Flick of Fairfield; a son, Richard Flick of Franklin; a daughter-in-law, Bonnie Flick of Hamilton; two sisters, Joyce (Keith) Van Hook of Fairfield and Judy Scalf of Ross; seven grandchildren, Janette Flick, Jeanne Flick, Randy Flick, Jeff Flick, Tony Flick, Steve Flick, and Joe (Amber) Flick; 9 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; and neighbors of 45 years, Denny and Sharon Depoi and Elsie House. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Howard Lynn Flick; and a brother, Robert Flick. Funeral service will be held at the Brown-Dawson-Flick Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Tuesday, August 27, 2013 at 2:00 PM with Chaplain Gene Dietz officiating. Burial will follow in Hickory Flat Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. www.browndawsonflick.com
