Janet Marie MILLS Obituary

News Death Notice

MILLS, Janet Marie age 78, of Hamilton, passed peacefully to heaven on Friday, October 18, 2013, surrounded by her family. She was born in Hamilton, Ohio on March 9, 1935, the daughter of Bernal and Thelma (Burns) Hensley. Marie had many titles: wife, mom, mammaw, auntie, friend, and she embraced them all. She treasured her family and friends, and always made it a point to stay in touch. Whenever you received a card from Marie, for a birthday or some other celebration, she always took the time to write a special message inside to let you know how special you were to her. Marie enjoyed camping, fishing and, most of all, staying up a good part of the night playing Pinochle or some other card game. She took great pleasure in being around her friends and family, particularly her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and delighted in their accomplishments, whether it was in dancing, soccer or baseball, or a hand-drawn picture for the fridge. She loved her family very much. On May 10, 1952 Marie married the love of her life, Raymond "Dilser" Mills, with whom she shared 56 wonderful years of marriage, renewing their vows on their 50th wedding anniversary. In addition to her husband, who preceded her in death in 2008, she was preceded in death by her son, Hobert Douglas Mills; a son who died in infancy; son-in-law, Ronnie Fields; three brothers, Eddie Wagers, Fred Hensley and Willie Hensley; and two sisters, Geraldine (Hensley) Mills and Ruth Ann (Wagers) Jackson. She is also survived by her daughter, Rayetta E. Fields, of Fairfield Township; son, Robert Craig (Anne) Mills, of Hamilton; grandchildren, Amanda (Doug) Miller of Loveland, Aric (Jennifer) Mills of Hamilton, Rhonda (Jon) Langdon and Ragan Fields, both of Seattle, Washington, and Megan Mills and Alex Mills, both of Hamilton; great-grandchildren, Coryn, Makenna, Makayla, Micah, Cameron, Gunner, Knox, Jon Paul, Eleanor and Jonah; her favorite niece, Robin (Ray) Chenault; and many other family members and close friends who loved her deeply. She will be greatly missed. Funeral services will be held at the Brown-Dawson-Flick Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Monday, October 21, 2013 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Paul Hensley officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. www.browndawsonflick.com
