FITZGERALD, Linda Kay Age 82 of Hamilton, passed away on Monday December 16, 2013. She was born on July 4, 1931 in Philadelphia, PA the daughter of the late Stanton and Dorothy (Kennedy) Fitzgerald. Her youth was spent in Elyria, Ohio where she graduated from Elyria High School in 1949. Upon graduating from Miami University where she was a member of Alpha Omicron Pi, she attended Katherine Gibbs School in New York City. Linda's professional career was spent with The United States Information Agency. Her first post was in Tehran, Iran and her final posting was in Paris, France. In between, she lived in Africa, Europe and Asia with two years spent in Saigon, Vietnam during the war. Linda also maintained a home in the D.C. area. She retired to Hamilton, Ohio where she pursued her interest in historic preservation. Her last years were spent at Westover Retirement Community where she received compassionate and professional care. Along with her parents, Linda was preceded in death by her very close St. Louis family. She is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Dorothy and Thomas Millikin, her nieces and their husbands, Malinda and Jeff King and Julie and Ken Kachic and her nephew and his wife, James and Tamyra Millikin. Three great nieces and one great nephew also survive. Linda is also survived by Denise Hermann, a dear neighbor and friend. Linda's family will be forever grateful for the years of care Denise provided. Among the many people also to come into Linda's life in her last years and to whom her family is especially appreciative are the caring staff at Westover and her advisor, Donna McGaw.
