News Death Notice

KIHM, Martha C. (nee Stallkamp) Age 100, of Hamilton, passed away peacefully in her sleep Tuesday, April 22, 2014, at home surrounded by her family. Martha was born in Delphos, Ohio, October 8, 1913, the youngest of 11 children of Edward and Anna (Finckh) Stallkamp. She was a graduate of Delphos St. John's High School, class of 1931 and also of Northwestern School of Business. She worked for Associates Finance in Lima, Ohio, until she married Robert R. Kihm January 25, 1941. He preceded her in death in 1994 after 53 years of marriage. She leaves behind three sons, Michael (Susan) Kihm, Thomas (Jacqueline) Kihm and David Kihm, all of Hamilton, and two daughters, Karen (John) Melko of Foster City, CA. and Judith (Bill) McKnight of Terre Haute, IN. along with 13 grandchildren: Andrew (Holly) Kihm, Caroline Horton, Christopher McKnight, Daniel Kihm, Elizabeth Timmerman, Jeffrey (Kate) Kihm, John Kihm, John (Valerie) Melko, Joseph (Suzette) Melko, Katherine Vogt, Kristine (Aaron) Browning, Maria (John) Hetherton and Sonia Melko, 20 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by all of her siblings as well as all of her brothers and sisters in law. After raising her children she volunteered for many years in the surgery waiting room of Hamilton Mercy Hospital. The family would like to thank the employees and therapists of Fort Hamilton Hospital, Berkeley Skilled Nursing & Rehab, Colonial Home Health Aides, Visiting Angels and Hospice of Cincinnati/Hamilton for their excellent care. Visitation will be held Friday, April 25, 2014 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at Weigel Funeral Home, 980 NW Washington Blvd, Hamilton. Mass of the Christian burial will be held Saturday, April 26, 2014 at 10:30am at St. Peter in Chains Catholic Church, Ridgelawn and Liberty Avenues followed by entombment in St. Stephen Mausoleum. Memorials may be directed to Stephen T. Badin High School, 571 New London Road, Hamilton, OH 45013, St Xavier High School, 600 North Bend Road, Cincinnati, OH 45224, and to Hospice of Hamilton, 1010 Eaton Avenue, Hamilton, OH 45013.
