News Death Notice
NOBLE, Raeburn "Sam" (Gillespie) age 95, of Middletown, Ohio, passed away Sunday, January 26, 2014 at Carlisle Manor Health Care. She was born May 14, 1918 in Waterloo, Indiana. "Sam" married Donald Henry Gillespie on October 10, 1936 in Kendallville, Indiana. She lived most of her life in Garrett, Indiana, where she was employed at Electric Motors for 15 years, retiring in 1977. After retiring she wintered in Crystal River, Florida. Don preceded her in death on April 4, 1988. She married Charles Edward "Bones" Noble on July 31, 1990, who preceded her in death on October 29, 2013. She was a member and past Senior Regent of the Moose Lodge in Auburn, Indiana, the Horseshoe Club in Crystal River, Florida and the Healing Word Assembly of God Church in Franklin. The family extends their special thanks and appreciation to the staff of Carlisle Manor and to Vitas Hospice for their care of "Sam" during her illness. Besides her husbands, she was preceding in death by her parents, Dale Owen and Julia Belinda (Richards) McIntosh; one sister, Irena A. Runion in 2006; and her great grandson, Adam Myers. She is survived by one son, Garth Gillespie, wife Helen of Garrett, Indiana; two daughters, Nyda Trowbridge and husband Lawrence J. Trowbridge, Sr. and Michaeleen "Micki" Tustison, husband Richard; three step children, Charles E. Noble, Jr., fiancée Lori, Tammy Gibbs and Stan Malott, and Penny Noble; seven grandchildren; four step grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; and five great-great grandchildren. Visitation will be Friday, January 31, 2014 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Healing Word Assembly of God Church, 5303 Dixie Highway, Franklin, Ohio, followed by services at the church at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Don Shepherd officiating. Interment will be at Butler County Memorial Park, Trenton, Ohio. Memorial contributions may be made to the family in care of the Herr-Riggs Funeral Home.
