News Death Notice
PERSINGER, Richard A. 70, passed away February 20 in Liberty, IN. He was born April 12, 1942 in West Florence, OH to John and Marie (Bauer) Persinger. Richard served in the U.S. Army from 1961-1963. He retired from Miami University where he had worked from 1963-1991 in the Bursar's Office. He was a member of Beta Theta Pi, and had worked at their Headquarters for 10 years. Richard was also a member of American Legion Post 122, Liberty, IN. He is survived by his loving wife Beverly (Muenchenbach) Persinger; 2 sons, R. Scott (Sarah) and Daniel H. (Laura) Persinger; grandchildren Danielle, Cody, Curran, Seth; brothers Emery (Anita), George (Bonnie) and Greg; sisters Frances Shepler, Helen (Roy) McLaughlin, Doris (Joe) Byrd and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Freeman (Hermine) Workman, sisters Dorothy and Josephine and brother-in-law Bob Shepler. Visitation will be Monday, February 25 at the Ogle & Paul R. Young Funeral Home, 5086 College Corner Pike, Oxford, from 10 am until the start of the service at 12pm. He will be laid to rest in the College Corner Cemetery.
