Jack made a Christmas promise to me (his daughter, Brenda) in 2008. His promise was to fix whatever broke or quit working at Pearls Diner. Wow! He volunteered to be my fix-it man. He's my dad and he just wanted to help. That was the best Christmas gift ever. Little did he know how many things we could break, destroy, tear up or go wrong. On any given day you could find him on the roof, the floor, in an ice machine, in the freezer, inside the dishwasher, wrapped around a toaster, or on top of a scaffold. I did get the head shake quite often, but he never said no. He never let me down, if it could be fixed he would fix it. If he wasn't repairing something he was making Chili. My dad deserves all the credit for the Chili we serve today. I could write pages about all that we endured in order to make that happen, but that's classified. Finally, when he would take a break to eat or rest he would find someone that would listen to him talk about God and His Word. I know that at this very moment he is in Heaven. This has been his ultimate goal as long as I can remember. I love you dad. You will be missed by all of the employees, friends and family.
