CARPENTER, Richard Allen 66 of Middletown, Ohio passed away in the comfort of his own home on October 12, 2012 after a courageous battle with lung cancer. He was born in Middletown, Ohio on May 21, 1946, the son of Marvin & Ruth (Moorehead) Carpenter. He is also survived by wife Joan (Fleming) Carpenter, sister Eleanore (Dale) Short of Middletown, Ohio, brother Ralph (Ruth) Carpenter of Hamilton, Ohio, two daughters Wendi (Scott) Jenkinson of Greenville, Ohio and Eileen (Stanley) Clark of Charleston, South Carolina, son Curtis (Amy) Carpenter of Madison Twnsp, Ohio 7 grandchildren ... Michael, Stephanie, & Jordon Jenkinson, Clinton Whitt, Savannah Clark, & Lexi & Breanna Carpenter. Richard was a graduate of Lemon-Monroe High School (1964), US Army (1966-1971), he was a member of the Masonic Lodge 693 and Monroe United Methodist Church. Richard was an avid Nascar fan, Cincinnati Bengals fan and Cincinnati Reds fan. He often spent his vacations camping, going to the beach or visiting with friends and family members. A gathering of family & friends will be held on Friday, October 19, 2012 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm with Masonic services at 7:30pm at the Breitenbach McCoy-Leffler Funeral Home, 517 South Sutphin Street, Middletown, Ohio 45044. A Celebration of Life Service will also be held there on Saturday, October 20, 2012 at 1:00 pm. Burial will follow at Butler County Memorial Park in Hamilton, Ohio.
