WHITESIDE, James James Whiteside retired Gary, Indiana teacher passed away peacefully December 29, 2010 in Merrillville, Indiana at the age of 83. James was born in St. Louis Missouri on July 1, 1929 to Fannie and Luther Whiteside, who predeceased him in death. James was a native of Hamilton, Ohio. He graduated from Dunbar High School in Dayton, Ohio in 1949. He enlisted in the United States Air Force and he was a veteran of the Korean Conflict. Upon his discharge, he attended Central State University. After graduating James and his wife Vivian moved to Gary, Indiana. He leaves a devoted wife Vivian (Mack) Whiteside, two sons, Hueston (Abbie) Whiteside and Brian (Cathy) Whiteside, brothers Earl Whiteside, Larry Whiteside (deceased), sister Joyce (James) Dorsey, six grandchildren, and three great grandchildren. Services will be held at St. Timothy's Community Church on Saturday January 5, 2012 beginning at 10 a.m. in Gary Indiana.
