Alice R. Weston

CAMBRIDGE CITY, Ind. - Alice R. Weston, 75, passed away on Friday evening, Aug. 19, 2011, at the Reid Hospital in Richmond, Ind. A daughter of the late Auttie and Mabel J. (Decker) Decker, Alice was born in Joliet, Ill., on Oct. 27, 1935. While in Illinois Alice worked for the American Lock Co. She moved to the Cambridge City community in 1977 from New Castle and was employed by Gas America at 1 & 70. A loving mother and grandmother, Alice enjoyed playing bingo, collecting porcelain dolls and her dog, Winnie. She was a member of the Women's Auxiliary of the Lawrence H. Bertsch American Legion Post 169 in Cambridge City.

Survivors include her companion of 33 years, Charles "Bud" Haler of Cambridge City; nine children, Barbara (Frank) Oakes of Cambridge City, William Weston of Illinois, Anna (Rick) Siggers of Cambridge City, Lenny (Maria) Weston of New Castle, Brenda (Robert) Keller of Illinois, Kristi (Mike) Lambert of New Lisbon, Randy (Kathleen) Weston of Tennessee, Daniel (Barb) Weston of New Castle, Glen (Dawn) Weston of Cambridge City; three stepchildren, Jennifer (Greg) Hunt of Cambridge City, Tracy Mears of Cambridge City and Charlie (Tresa) Haler of Lafayette; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Alice was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Weston, in 1978, and two sons, Rodger and Johnny Weston.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 24, 2011, at the Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home, Dublin. Burial will follow at the Riverside Cemetery in Cambridge City.
