RICHMOND, Ind. - Jesse Keith "Jay" Michaels, 88, of Richmond, died June 16, 2011, after a short illness. He was born in Richmond to James and LaVonne Rhodehamel Michaels and lived in Richmond most of his life.

He retired from General Motors in Anderson and formerly worked as a guard at Pendleton Correction Facility. He was an Army veteran of World War II serving in the India/Burma Road Campaign.

He was an Elder at the House of Jesus Church in Williamsburg, was a member of the Kirk Little V.F.W 1108 and the D.A.V.

Survivors include his daughter, Shelia L. Villalobos of Arizona; son, Mike K. Michaels of Arizona; three grandchildren, Daniel, Matthew, Monique Villalobos of Arizona; two great-grandchildren, Uriah and Brooklin Villalobos of Arizona; two brothers, Malcolm "Mac" (Phyllis) Michaels Sr. of Richmond and John (Joan) Michaels of Greens Fork; his sister, Dorothy Michaels of Richmond; several nieces and nephews; two sisters-in-law, Sharon and Joan Michels of Richmond; special friends, Danny and Charlotte Farmer and family.

He is preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, Warren James Michaels, Donald Michaels, Jaerry Michaels, Russell Imhoff and Duane Smith; four sisters, Betty Imhoff, Arlene Fisher, Sharon Ross and Janet Wesler.

Services will be 1 p.m. today (June 21, 2011) at Stegall-Berheide-Orr Funeral Home with Ted Snider officiating. Burial will be in Earlham Cemetery with military rites. Friends may call from noon-1 p.m. today at the funeral home.
