CAMBRIDGE CITY, Ind. - Ruby M. Scott, 97, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 17, 2011, at her home.
A lifelong Cambridge City resident, Ruby was born here on March 23, 1914. Ruby graduated from Lincoln High School with the class of 1933 and was very proud that she was neither absent nor tardy for all of her 12 years of school.
She had worked at Perfect Circle in Hagerstown for 3 1/2 years, Heim Manufacturing Company for eight years and retired from Balanced Line Caskets in Cambridge City after 31 years of service. Ruby was a lifetime member of the Cambridge City Christian Church.
Survivors include her special nephew and niece, Mike and Carla Bruns of Hagerstown, and several other nieces and nephews.
Ruby was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Edna (Lester) Walters; husband, Theodore "Ted" Scott in 1972; three sisters, Ruth Imogene Moore, Mary Jane Zurwell and Martha J. Bruns; two brothers, Ralph and Robert Walters.
Mike and Carla would like to extend a special "thank you" to caregivers Sandy Zook, Dustin Thornburg and Sue Adkins.
Public graveside services and interment will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 20, 2011, at Riverside Cemetery in Cambridge City. Father John H. Luerman will officiate. The Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home, Dublin, has been entrusted with the arrangements.
