BICKFORD, Elsie Dineson Elsie Dineson Bickford passed from this life on May 12, 2017. She lived in North Palm Beach, FL for 35 years. Elsie was blessed with a family of 7 children, 11 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Elsie was born August 19, 1922, in New York City to Leo H. Dineson and Elsbeth Kikta Dineson. Elsie's parents and brother, Leo H. Dineson, Jr. of San Jose, CA, predeceased Elsie. She attended Hunter College in New York. On February 2, 1946, Elsie married Harold E. Bickford, who passed on January 1, 1997. Elsie was married previously to Lt. William Sherman Burns, Jr., who died in service to his country on July 23, 1943. Harold and Elsie lived in Greenwich, CT for 30 years. Harold ran the company his father started in the 1920's, Bickford Restaurants. They were members of the Greenwich Country Club and the Stanwich Club. Summers, they enjoyed homes at Grandfather Mountain, NC and Bald Peak Colony Club, NH. Elsie is survived by her seven children, Michael L. Bickford and his wife, Diana Combe Bickford, Christopher C. Bickford, Jeffrey S. Bickford, Daniel H. Bickford and his wife, Anna J. Bickford, Catherine B. Cann and her husband, Robert Cann, Peter J. Bickford, and Matthew P. Bickford and his wife, Marianne Koks Bickford. Elsie is survived by her eleven grandchildren, Michael D. Bickford and wife Maria Paula V. Bickford, John L. Bickford and his wife, Kristina P. Bickford, Jessica B. Fox and her husband, Gary Fox, Sarah L. Bickford, Devon B. Suozzi and her husband, Michael D. Suozzi III, Elizabeth L. Bickford, Kelsie B. Droppa and her husband, Daniel Droppa, Paul S. Bickford, Rebecca M. Cann, Adrian T. Cann, and Madeline G. Cann. Elsie is survived by her six great-grandchildren, Peyton D. Bickford, Michael D. Suozzi IV, Christopher R. Suozzi, Fiorella V. Bickford, Charlotte L. Droppa and Mia V. Bickford. A Catholic Mass and Burial will be held on Saturday, May 20, 2017 at 10:30A.M. at Our Lady Queen of Peace Chapel at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Hawthorne, NY. A reception will follow at the Stanwich Club. A wake will be held on Friday, May 19 from 4:00P.M. to 6:00P.M. at Leo P. Gallagher & Son Funeral Home in Greenwich, CT. A Memorial Service will be held for Elsie next winter in North Palm Beach. In lieu of flowers Elsie requests that those who wish kindly make a contribution to Lourdes-Noreen McKeen in West Palm Beach, FL or a charity of one's choice.
