AINSWORTH, Marjorie Sheridan Marjorie Sheridan Ainsworth, of Palm Beach, FL, passed away peacefully at age 96 on June 22, 2016 after a brief illness. A Funeral Mass will be offered today at Immaculate Conception Church in Mahwah, NJ with interment to follow at Maryrest Cemetery in Mahwah, NJ. She is pre-deceased by her husband, William Frederick Ainsworth, Jr. and her son, William Ainsworth, III. She is survived by her children, Karen DeMatteis Furst (Henry) of Verona, NJ; David (Christie) of Basking Ridge, NJ; and James (Denise) of Spartenburg, SC. She is also survived by her grandchildren, David (Carmen) DeMatteis and Jared (Isabelle) DeMatteis and Sheridan and Ashton Ainsworth, and her great-granddaughter, Katarina Mia DeMatteis. Born in Jersey City, NJ she was a longtime resident of River Edge, Woodcliff Lake, Englewood and Montclair, NJ. Prior to her retirement in Palm Beach, FL, she owned and operated Continental Domestic Agency in Verona, NJ. She was a gentle soul who was beloved by all who knew her. Funeral Services are held under the direction of Farmer Funeral Home, Roseland, NJ. Condolences and memories may be shared at ( farmerfuneral.com ). ARFFA, Robert C.* - West Palm Beach  
ARFFA, Robert C. Dr. Robert C. Arffa, renown ophthalmologist, corneal transplant and refractive surgeon who restored sight to the blind, voted one of the Best Doctors in America for 20 years running, died suddenly in a two passenger plane crash on the way to see patients Thursday June 16, 2016. He was a recognized man of integrity, a loving, warm, kind man, caring of others, and a patient teacher who made a significant and lasting impact on so many lives. Dr. Arffa, predeceased by his father Stanley is survived by his loving wife, Dr. Sharon Arffa; three children, Dr. Rachel Arffa and husband Matthew Yang, Lauren Arffa, and Matthew and wife Valdone Arffa, and mother Shirley Levinson Arffa; brother Allan and Kay Arffa; nieces Kathryn and Leslie and nephew Travis; sister Bonnie Arffa Perman; husband Tim; niece Natalie and step-nephews Tom and Alastair Perman. He was also very close to uncles, aunts, and cousins. Born in New Haven, CT in 1955 he graduated from Hopkins Grammar School, Cornell University, University of Connecticut Medical School, served his residency in ophthalmology at Indiana University and fellowship in Cornea and External Disease at Louisiana State University Medical Center in New Orleans. He authored four books including the definitive textbook on ophthalmology, an expert guide to financial planning for professionals, and co-authored "Microkeratome-assisted lamellar keratoplasty" with Dr. Massimo Busin of Italy, describing an advanced surgical procedure they developed. He continually was enthusiastic with new interests and abilities, learned Italian, delved into the newest in technology, and enjoyed the outdoors: cycling, hiking, skiing, and tennis, wrote a wine blog, traveled the wine country and shared his interest with his many friends and associates. Services were held Sunday, June 19, 2016, in Pittsburgh, PA officiated by Rabbi James Gibson of Temple Sinai assisted by Rabbi Mahler of Temple Emanuel to an outpouring of love, shock, and grief. He was a special man, important to his community, left an international legacy, and will be very deeply missed. AVON, Ronald A. Ronald A. Avon, 77 of Port St. Lucie, Fl passed away unexpectedly June 16, 2016. A Celebration of Life was held Thursday (June 23) in North Palm Beach, Florida. A Celebration of Life will be held in New York at a later date. Ron was born August 22, 1938 in Syracuse, NY to Arnold and Mary Avon. He owned several businesses in Syracuse and Waterloo, NY as well as in Palm Beach, Fl. where he then retired. He loved his family and friends and was an avid motorcyclist. Ron is survived by his wife, Kathy; two sons Richard (Patti) Avon, Patrick (Bridgit) Avon; two daughters Starr (Michael) Wilkinson, Amanda (Jayson) Cloutier; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; three sisters Joanne Scarbrough, Nancy (William) Reschke, Cheri Caltagirone and several nieces and nephews. BAKER, Richard Perry Richard Perry Baker, 65, of Ocala, FL, died Saturday, June 18, 2016 at Legacy House Hospice in Ocala. He was born May 12, 1951 in West Palm Beach, FL the son of Elmer Perry Baker and Shirley (Hasper) Baker. A lifelong resident of Florida he worked as a cabinet maker in the construction industry. He was an avid fan of NASCAR racing. He is survived by five children: Christopher Baker and his wife Marci of West Palm Beach; Donald Baker and his wife Deanna of Lakeland, FL; Tara Welbanke of Ocala; Aaron Baker of Ocala; Sarah Hawk and her husband Chuck of Okeechobee, FL; also survived by his mother Shirley Baker of West Palm Beach and brother Todd Baker of West Palm Beach and by nine grandchildren.
