PERRY Sr., Lindsey R.* - Boca Raton
PERRY, Sr., Lindsey R. Lindsey R. Perry, Sr. of Delray Beach, FL passed away on January 30th. He was born on 3/31/28 in Salem, MA. After attending Salem Classic High School, Lindsey graduated from M.I.T. in 1949 with a degree in Chemistry. Lindsey immediately went to work on the Northshore of Boston for Hytron, Inc., which was instrumental in the development of the "proxity fuse" for the US Army. During his time at Hytron, Lindsey was involved in an array of projects from the early fabrication of the color TV tubes to a unique, plastic golf tee to a US patent in Lindsey's name that secured the process of adding the light emitting phosphors to the glass TV tube which was ultimately licensed to RCA. As an entrepreneur at heart, real estate was his calling, traveling and playing golf were his hobbies and being an avid, private pilot was his passion. His real estate development started with Mainline Homes in Massachusetts, traveled through Nantucket Island, touched down in Dorado Beach, Puerto Rico and ended up in Florida. In his free time, he coupled his love of golf with his desire to travel and his passion to fly resulting in unique experiences around the globe. Once retiring to south FL and becoming a principal founder of 1st United Bank in Boca Raton, it was commonplace to find Lindsey playing cards or the organ reminiscing about family ballooning trips or golfing adventures around the world. He is survived by his partner, Charlotte Stone of Delray Beach, five children - Lindsey Jr. (FL - spouse Sandy), Bruce (MA - spouse Michelle), Christopher (MA - spouse Stacie), Stephen (HI - spouse Robyn) and Susan (NC) - sixteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren. A celebration of Lindsey's life will be held at the Glick Family Funeral Home on N. Federal Highway in Boca Raton on Monday at 5:00pm. A service and burial on Nantucket Island, Massachusetts will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, charitable donations may be made to the following: The National Center for Missing & Exploited Children www.MissingKids.com To express condolences and/or make donations: Visit PalmBeachPost.com/obituaries
