KALAIDJIAN, Edward Curtis* - West Palm Beach  
KALAIDJIAN, Edward Curtis Edward C. Kalaidjian, 94, passed away at home in Jupiter on May 4, 2016. Born in New Jersey on September 26, 1921, Edward attended Nyack High School in Nyack, NY and in 1942 received his B.A. at Columbia University. After serving as Lieutenant in the U.S. Navy during World War II as Communications Officer on the USS Neshanic, he received his L.L.B. at Columbia Law School in 1947 and was admitted to the New York Bar in 1948. He joined the law firm, Thacher, Proffitt & Wood, New York in 1947 and became a partner in the firm in 1954. Edward served for many years as Chair of the Litigation Department at Thacher Proffitt, where his specialty was admiralty law. During the 1980s, he served as US Maritime Law Advisor to the US delegation of the International Maritime Organization in the negotiation of the International Salvage Convention of 1989 for which he was awarded the US Coast Guard Medal of Meritorious Public Service. After retiring from the firm in 1992, he relocated to Vero Beach, FL, with his wife Elizabeth, and after her death in 2003 to Jupiter, FL. He was preceded in death by his parents Rev. Mihran Tatios Kalaidjian and Aimee Gillies Kalaidjian, his beloved wife Elizabeth Barron Kalaidjian, his brothers Robert and Rev. William Kalaidjian, his sisters Ruth K. Davis and Marjorie Gottwik and his beloved companion of 13 years Lilly Rauch. He is survived by his three children Emma Kalaidjian (Gary Rhodes), Walter Kalaidjian (Pat Cahill) and Robert Kalaidjian, his five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, his companion's children and grandsons, and many nieces, nephews and friends. He enjoyed traveling, visits with grandchildren, writing poetry, studying American history and current events, gourmet dining, boating and golf. He will be remembered for his keen intellect, his commitment to family, education and community and as a loving grandfather, an outstanding advocate, leader and mentor. KANTOR, Irwin* - West Nyack, Ny  
KANTOR, Irwin Irwin Kantor (85) of North Palm Beach, Florida; Montauk, New York; Manhattan, NY; and West Nyack NY, tragically passed away this week. A truly devoted and loving family man, Irwin is survived by his wife of 59 years, Barbara; children, Robin and Peter Kantor, and adoring grandchildren, Elizabeth, Jack and Reid Kantor. Irwin was a Korean War veteran. He was an expert on international and domestic tax law, a CPA, MBA and JD, and was former Vice President of General Signal Corporation. After retiring from General Signal, Irwin taught tax law and accounting at the graduate business school level. He also pursued his love for boating and fishing in both Florida and Montauk. Funeral services will be held at Hannemann Funeral Home, 88 South Broadway, Nyack, NY on Tuesday May 24, 2016 at 2PM. (845-358-0573). Internment on Wednesday May 25, 2016 at 1PM at Fort Hill Cemetery, Montauk, NY. Shiva calls and minyan on Sunday May 29, 2016 at the Kantor home in West Nyack, NY from 4PM - 7PM.
