TAMBONE, Antonio J. "AJ"* - Winchester  
TAMBONE, Antonio J. "AJ" Antonio J. Tambone, "AJ", 94, of Belmont, MA, formerly of Winchester, MA and Palm Beach, Florida, passed peacefully on June 28, 2015. He was surrounded by his family at home. Born in Mineo, Sicily on February 10, 1921 to Maria and Agrippino Tambone of Medford, MA. His wife Alma and AJ recently celebrated their 67th wedding anniversary on April 3, 2015. Antonio, known to his family and friends as "AJ", graduated from Chelsea High School in Chelsea, MA. Throughout high school he worked as a plasterer in his father's plastering business and then decided to build his first home at the age of 17 in Medford, MA, while attending classes at Northeastern University and Boston Architectural School. AJ enlisted in 1942 in the Navy's 42nd Construction Batallion (Sea Bees) building Quanset Huts and air bases in the Aleutian Islands in Alaska during WW II. Upon his discharge he started Massachusetts Builders, Inc. a construction company, and A.J. Tambone, Inc,. a single family home building company, becoming the largest home builder on Boston's north shore building over 2,000 homes. He then diversified into apartments, industrial and office developments throughout New England and Florida maintaining offices in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida and Reading, MA, under the company name of Tambone Corporation. A.J. knew how to enjoy life and had many interests and was an avid golfer as a member of the Winchester Country Club in Winchester, MA and Breakers Country Club in Palm Beach, FL. He was a past President of both the Massachusetts Builders Association and Home Builders Association of Greater Boston. A.J. knew how to enjoy life as a golfer, traveler and avid boater. He always named his yachts after his beloved wife Alma. AJ was a generous man with his family and friends and donated his time serving at the Winchester Hospital in Winchester, MA, Lahey Clinic in Burlington, MA, St. Mary's Hospital and Good Samaritan Hospitals in West Palm Beach, Florida. He devoted time to fundraising for the Archdiocese of Boston and served as a trustee of the Catholic Foundation of the Archdiocese of Boston. He was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award from the National Italian American Foundation of Washington, D.C. AJ leaves his beloved wife Alma (Soracco), brother Frank of Medford, MA and children, Anthony and fiancee Susan Hatch, of S. Hamilton, MA, Robert and Mimi (McNamara) of Wenham, MA, Richard and Lori (Bliss) of Lexington, MA, Mary (Tambone) and John Savage, of Ipswich, MA, Victoria (Tambone) Jackson of N. Reading, MA and Peter and Elisabete (Marques) of Woburn, MA along with 17 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren all of whom he loved dearly. AJ is joining his late brother Sam, son John and son-in-law, Donald Jackson. A celebration of his life will take place at a funeral mass on Wednesday, July 1, 2015 at 10:00 AM at St Eulalia Church, 50 Ridge Street, Winchester, MA with a burial service following at the Wildwood Cemetery, Winchester, MA. THERIEN, Jean A. "John" Age 80, Jean A. "John" Therien, of Palm Beach, Florida, formerly of Fort Lauderdale, and of Montréal, Canada, passed away June 28, 2015. He was surrounded by his family at home. The son of Roland A. Therien and Jeanne Lesperance of Montréal, Canada. He is survived by his loving wife Claire of 59 years. He was predeceased by his younger sister Janine de Brienne. He is survived by his older sister Lise Ranger of Montréal, Canada, his younger sister Monique Therien of Montréal, Canada, his three sons Pierre, Luke, and Gilles, and his six grandchildren. After attending College, he worked as a Manager for his father's loan company from 1954 to 1959. In 1960 he founded and managed "Alliance Credit", turning it public on the Montréal Stock Exchange, selling it in 1966. In 1966 he moved to Fort Lauderdale, Florida with his family, starting a new company "Financial Business Brokers", succeeding as a business and real estate broker in Broward County. In 1971 he formed a partnership and started a restaurant and bar called Banana Boat. That partnership began a chain of Banana Boats extending through Broward and Palm Beach Counties. In 1978 he formed a new partnership and opened a new Banana Boat in Boynton Beach, followed by developing and managing other restaurants including Fifth Avenue Grill in Delray Beach in 1989, Fifth Avenue Grill in Lighthouse Point in 1996, Old Calypso in 1997, and Prime Catch in Boynton Beach in 2004. THOMAS, Arthur R. Arthur R. Thomas, age 84, of Greenacres, FL, passed away June 29, 2015. Mr. Thomas was an area resident since 1953, having come from Montgomery, NY. He was a United States Marine Corps Veteran. He attended Calvary Chapel, Boynton Beach. He will be lovingly remembered by his family, including his wife of 62 years, Donna J. Thomas, sons, William Thomas (Carline), Robert Thomas (Pam), grandchildren, Matthew, Tami, Chad, Mallory, Scott, Alexandra, great-grandchildren, Braden, Bayli, sister, Ann Greising. Funeral Services will be held 4:00PM Sunday, July 5, 2015 at Tillman Funeral Home & Crematory, 2170 S. Military Trail, West Palm Beach the Rev. Duane Roberts celebrant.
