HEWITT, Robert S.* - West Palm Beach  
HEWITT, Robert S. Died on February 25, 2015. Born on September 11, 1917 in Jasper, Florida to Sidney Johnston Hewitt and Myra Johnson Hewitt. Bob graduated from P.K. Younge High School, Gainesville, Florida, and received AB and JD degrees from the University of Florida. He was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant in the U.S. Army while attending law school, and served in the 4th Infantry Division as a field artillery officer in Europe during World War II. He landed at Utah Beach, participated in campaigns in Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland, Ardennes and Central Europe, and was awarded a Bronze Star. After the war he served in the U.S. Army Reserve, and retired as a Colonel. He was a graduate of the Associates Command and General Staff Course at the United States Army Command and General Staff College. Bob married Florence Lisiecki on September 5, 1943, and they moved to West Palm Beach in 1945. His beloved wife died on August 5, 2013. Bob practiced civil trial law with Miller, Hewitt, Cone, Owen & Wagner until he was appointed to the bench by Gov. Leroy Collins in 1959. He served as a circuit court judge for 25 years. After his retirement from the bench, he served as a senior judge, mediator and special master. Judge Hewitt was a member of the Florida Bar, the Palm Beach County Bar Association, several civic, service, social and fraternal organizations, and Holy Trinity Episcopal Church. He served as president of the Palm Beach County Junior Bar Association, and as a director of the Legal Aid Society of Palm Beach County. Judge Hewitt is survived by his sons, John and David, his granddaughters, Carrie, Katherine, Kelly and Catherine, and his great-grandchildren, Peyton, Savannah, and Charlie. Our father and grandfather was a kind, generous, humble man who loved his family. We will miss him. A private funeral service will be held at a later date. KRUTAK, Martin Richard Martin Richard Krutak, age 88, of Jupiter passed away February 24, 2015. Born in Chicago, IL, he proudly and honorably served in the U.S. Army in WWII. Martin enjoyed being a successful small business owner and loyally serving in law enforcement. His greatest love was his wife, Barbara, of 62 years followed by his family. His passion for fishing, golfing, and cooking brought him great joy. Martin was an active member of Jupiter Elks Lodge #2469. He was predeceased by his wife, Barbara and is survived by his three children, Martin G. Krutak, Richard Krutak, Mary Jo Krutak and husband Bruce Heekin, grandchildren Danaka and Stella. A Funeral Mass will be held at 3 p.m., Tuesday, March 3rd 2015 at St. Clare Catholic Church, 821 Prosperity Farms Road, NPB, FL 33408. Burial will be at St. John's Cemetery in Hammond, Indiana. LoGRASSO, Gaetano 73, of Lake Worth, the founder of Mamma Mia's Italian Restaurants, passed away on Friday, February 27, 2015. Gaetano was born in Sicily, Italy on February 3, 1942; he came to America, arriving to New York in 1966. Shortly after, he married his love and life partner, Vincenza Lena LoGrasso. Together they raised their four children in Italian tradition. Pop made sure that family came first, that faith in God is passed on, and food was always top notch. He will be forever missed by Vincenza, his beloved wife of 47 years; devoted sons Vincenzo (Geraldine); Francesco (Isabel); and Joey (Jackie) LoGrasso and loving daughter Nina (Gennaro) Illiano. He also leaves behind 13 wonderful grandchildren; as well as his siblings in Italy; brothers and sisters-in-law; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends that he loved dearly. Visiting hours will be held from 2-4pm and 6-8pm on Tuesday at Glick Family Funeral Home, Boca Raton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30am on Wednesday, March 4, 2015 at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, Boynton Beach. Entombment will follow at Boca Raton Mausoleum. MANUEL, William "Bill" William "Bill" Manuel, born October 8, 1946, passed away peacefully at his home in North Palm Beach, FL February 21, 2015. Bill was born in Weymouth, MA and has been a resident of The Village of North Palm Beach for 15 years and was currently serving on The Village Council. Bill graduated from Weymouth High School and served in the Navy during the Vietnam Era. Village of North Palm Beach Elected 2006 Mayor 2013, 2010, 2008 Vice Mayor 2012, 2009, 2007 President Pro Tem 2011, 2006 Council Member 2015, 2014 Florida League of Cities Home Rule Administration Council - 2006 to 2008 Transportation and Intergovernmental Relations Legislative Policy Committee - 2008-2012, 2014 Palm Beach County League of Cities Designated Voting Representative for North Palm Beach - 2007 to 2015 Board of Directors - 2009 to 2015 It's the Economy Task Force (ITE) State Attorney Advisory Board - 2009 to 2015 Northlake Boulevard Task Force - 2007 to 2011 During his time serving on the Council he oversaw the renovation of the North Palm Beach Golf Course, construction of the North Palm Beach Tennis Center and Anchorage Park. His biggest accomplishment was by far the construction of the Veterans Memorial Park located in the Village of North Palm Beach in 2013 located next to the North Palm Beach Library. Bill is survived by: His loving longtime companion of 15 years, Nancy Pekoe, Best friends Paul and Sandy Mattes, Step children Stacy Van Santen and her husband David Barton, 3 grandchildren Kendall, Lindsay and Chase Barton of North Palm Beach. He is also survived by his brother Bruce and his wife Carol Manuel of Rochester, NY and multiple loved nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held on Monday, March 2 from 5:30PM to 7:30PM at Howard-Quattlebaum Funeral, Cremation and Event Center, 754 U.S. Highway 1, North Palm Beach, FL 33408. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 3 at 11:00AM at Veteran's Memorial Park, 303 Anchorage Drive, North Palm Beach, FL 33408 with a reception following the service at the North Palm Beach Country Club. Interment will take place at South Florida National Cemetery in Lake Worth, FL at 10:45AM on Wednesday, March 4.
