Beth Pollak passed away on April 4, 2013 with her loving husband by her side. Born on April 23, 1935 in Chicago, IL to the late Stewart and Evelyn (Brown) Greenberg. Beth graduated from the University of Illinois with a Masters Degree in education. As co-founder of Academic Counseling Services, she spent her career counseling young people in their future education choices. She loved counseling her nine grandchildren the most, always available to offer advice and guidance. Beth was a tireless volunteer in many organizations through the years, including positions as President of both B'nai B'rith and the Sisterhood of Temple Beth El in Gary, Indiana. Most recently Beth was honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award bestowed by Abraham Foxman of the Anti-Defamation League. Beth is survived by her loving husband Len, her adoring and committed Yorky Sassy, her four sons, Michael (Shereen), Mitchell (Gail), Scott (Polly), Dale (Nancy), and her nine grandchildren, Jennifer (Zev), Amy, Adam, Brett, Jordan, Marc, Austin, Alex and Samson. She is also survived by her sister Susan (David) Albertson and niece Lori Herman and nephew Bob (Heidi) Herman. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to the Anti-Defamation League, 1 Park Place, 621 NW 53rd Street Suite 450, Boca Raton, FL 33487 or the Foundation Fighting Blindness P.O. Box 17279, Baltimore, Maryland 21297. Services will be held on Sunday, April 7 at 11:00 a.m. at Gutterman Warheit Memorial Chapel, 7240 North Federal Highway, Boca Raton, FL 800-992-9262.
