ALLSOPP, Evelyn Bruno

Evelyn Bruno Allsopp passed away December 20, 2013. She was born March 27, 1917 in Cates, Indiana, the daughter of David E. and Lily Stoup Campbell. She married Laurens F. Bruno of Teaneck, New Jersey in 1940. He preceded her in death in May, 1998. She later married Thomas Allsopp of Sarasota, Florida in 2000. He preceded her in death in October, 2001. Evelyn was the loving mother of her daughter Carol Bruno Mitchell of Fairfax, Virginia, son Kenneth Bruno of Atlantis, Florida, and son-in-law, Ralph Mitchell of Fairfax, Virginia. Surviving relatives include nieces Glenda Richardson of Kingman, Indiana, Joanne Nolan of Covington, Indiana, June Rhodes of Crawfordsville, Indiana and Merle Vincent of Massachusetts; nephews Jackie Bowling of Covington, Indiana, Mike Bowling of Kokomo, Indiana, and Robert Bruno of Arizona; cousins Eileen Parker of Indianapolis, Indiana, and Lila Lubker of Roswell, New Mexico; step daughters Susan Kass, Carol Quirk, and Barbara Conathan all of Florida. She was preceded in death by her parents and beloved sisters, Kathleen A. Bowling and Novella Clodfeller of Cates, Indiana. Evelyn was a graduate of Lakeview Hospital of Nursing in Danville, Illinois. She was working as a registered nurse when she met her husband, Laurens. Her hobbies included golf, crewel, painting, knitting, bridge, and reading. She was a member of the Weston Golf Club Team and was an active member of Atlantis Golf Club, Atlantis, Florida, from 1974-2012. She was a member of Lakeside Presbyterian Church, West Palm Beach, Florida, and later Royal Poinciana Chapel, Palm Beach, Florida. Remembrances should be made to Vitas Hospice Services or Hospice of Palm Beach County. A memorial service will be held at Royal Poinciana Chapel, January 4, 2014 at 11:00 AM. A reception will be held after the service at Evelyn's house.
