Age 59 of West Palm Beach, FL passed away suddenly at his home on Wednesday, February 13, 2013. He was born on January 23, 1954 in Birmingham, Alabama, the son of the late Archie DeEdward Driver & Helen Mitchell. Gordon was a 1972 graduate of Pell City High School and received a B.S. degree from Jacksonville State University in Jacksonville, Alabama. He worked for many years in estate management, including seventeen years in Washington, DC, as butler/house manager for the late Senator Edward Kennedy and his wife, Vicki. After he retired in 2009, he took care of his terminally ill aunt, Michelle Dick until her death. He was a devoted, loving father, best friend, sanity, everything to his only daughter, Holli D. Coley; and her husband, Chris Coley of Montgomery, AL. He also leaves behind his best friend, Barbara Buchman of West Palm Beach, FL. He loved nature, animals, the great outdoors and traveling. He was extremely loyal to all of his friends and family. His kindness, humor, deep baritone laugh and his constantly keeping in touch with all the people in his life will be deeply missed. A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held this May 11th in West Palm Beach, FL. Details to be announced. Memorial donations may be made to Alabama Head Injury Foundation www.ahif.org, a nonprofit organization, where his daughter has worked for 7 years.
