Joseph T. Holtzberg, 72, died Saturday evening December 7, just hours before his 73rd birthday. Joe was the only child born to Hilda and Irving in Brooklyn, NY. He grew up in Brooklyn and graduated from Farleigh Dickenson University and received his masters degree from the Stern School at New York University. Ahead of his time, he started his career 50 years ago as a systems analyst for Shell Oil. Ultimately he moved into the environmental field as a consultant for the coal mining industry. Joe and his wife of 50 years, Leah, who survives him, enjoyed traveling, the arts, theatre and exploring their new home in West Palm Beach. He had a passion for cars, the love of which he shared with his son. But most importantly he enjoyed spending time with his family. His son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Nathan and Jan Holtzberg and his beloved grandchildren, Sarah and Joshua will miss his kind and gentle support and wry sense of humor. He will be greatly missed. Memorial service to follow at a later date.
