Josephine "Jo" Anderson, 95, of Lake City, FL, passed away February 8, 2014 surrounded by family members and dedicated care givers. She was born in Philadelphia, PA to Mary and Henry Hudek. She married Edwin Anderson, Jr. on December 7, 1941 and settled in Delray Beach, FL. While her husband served in the United States Army during World War II, Jo returned to her parent's home in Philadelphia and became one of the "Rosie the Riveters", working in the Edward G. Budd Manufacturing Plant welding manifolds for B-24 bombers. In the spring of 1946 she returned to Delray Beach where she and her husband started their family. Mrs. Anderson resided in Delray Beach for 63 years and worked part-time at the Pine Grove Elementary School cafeteria. In retirement, she was active in the VFW
's Ladies Auxiliary of Delray Beach and enjoyed her walks along the beach. She is survived by her three children, Dorothy (Robert) Maass of Lake City, Edwin Anderson, III of West Palm Beach and Eileen (Alan) Forster of Sebastian and grandchildren, Breck, Vanessa, and Jessica Maass, Shelby Tucker, Edwin Anderson, IV and Eric Shalloway as well as four great-grandchildren. She is pre-deceased by her sister, Marion and brothers, Frank and Henry and former husband, Ed Anderson. She leaves as a lasting immortality of influence her strength, compassion, and love of life.
