Karan Deonjenese Skipper, 55, of West Palm Beach departed this life on May 1, 2013. Karan was a graduate Forest Hill High School Class of 1976. She attended FAMU and earned her degree at Palm Beach Atlantic University. She was the owner of IMPACT (Innovatively Motivating Parents, Achieving Children Together.) Karan was an employee of St. Mary's Medical Center for Child Development and Easter Seals of Florida/ Early Step Program. Karen found much joy in her work with autistic children. She leaves to cherish her memories a daughter, Rikki Cannon; sons, Zori Willis and Richard Cannon, Jr.; a loving friend and ex-husband, Richard Cannon; god-daughter, Ja'Naya Simmons; brother, Robert "Chief" Skipper (Connie); sister, Robcelyne "Sis. Robbie" Williams; sisters-in-law, Carol and Lorraine Cannon; aunts, Hazel "Inez" Johnson and Edgar Mae "Bill" Worthy (Robert); her best friend, Juanita White and a special niece, Kyla Williams (Tony) and a host of nephews, cousins and friends. The family will receive friends, Monday, May 6 from 5:00 PM to 7:30 PM at Stevens Brothers Funeral Home 1803 N Tamarind Ave, West Palm Beach. Funeral service, Tuesday, May 7, 10:00 AM at Mt. Gilead Missionary Baptist Church, Rev. Rufus Parson, pastor and Elder Renee Pinder, PhD officiating. Arrangements entrusted to Stevens Brothers Funeral Home.
