Leslie M. "Les" SZIRBIK

SZIRBIK, Leslie M. "Les"Leslie M. "Les" Szirbik, age 72, died at JFK Memorial Medical Center, Lake Worth, Florida on September 12, 1913, after a brief illness. Born August 5, 1941, in East Haven, CT to the late Margaret Foley and Leslie Szirbik, he served in the Army Corps and then married his longtime sweetheart Kathleen A. Enscoe and had 2 children. Being raised in the tree business he acquired his lifelong nickname of "the tree man" and went on to use it in the trucking industry for over 20 years as the owner and entrepreneur of K & L Transport Inc. North Haven, CT and Ft. Myers, FL. After retiring to Florida where he spent the last 28 years he became actively involved in the Benevolent & Protective Order of Elks, offering his time and service until he reached the level at his retirement of PDDGER.He will be missed by many.He leaves behind is wife Kathleen of 50 years, his son James J. Szirbik of Wallingford, CT, his daughter Kathleen Szirbik-Marotta of Meriden, CT and his granddaughter Ashley Ann Marotta. He was the eldest of 5 children. He was predeceased by his brother James Szirbik of East Haven. He also leaves his brother George Szirbik of Arizona, Thomas Szirbik of Vermont and Sister Margaret Williams of Connecticut. In Lieu of flowers donations can be made in his name to the Elks club charity that he held close to his heart The Harry Anna Foundation. Friends are welcome to attend the service on Sunday September 22, 2013 at The Elks Club #1352 from 2-5 PM at 6118 Belvedere Rd. West Palm Beach, FL.
