LUONGO, Michael

Michael Luongo, age 84, of Boynton Beach, FL, passed away peacefully on March 19, 2014. He was born in Brooklyn, NY to Vincenzo and Angelina Luongo. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict, was a New York - New Jersey Port Authority policeman for over 20 years and then a proprietor/master craftsman of fine furniture and stairs before fully retiring in Florida. He was a member of the Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Lantana. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Eleanore; four children: daughters, Michelle Luongo of Fort Lauderdale and Maureen Luongo of Delray Beach; sons, Michael Jr. and Matthew both of Sussex, NJ; three grandchildren: Nina, Michael III and Tiana; great-granddaughter, Kayleigh; three sisters: Nina, Cam and Nettie; brother, Vincent. A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, March 28th at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 1000 W. Lantana Road, Lantana, FL 33462. Inurnment will follow at 1:00 PM at South Florida National Cemetery, 6501 State Road 7, Lake Worth, FL 33449.
