Pauline Newstein, 101, of Bridgewater, NJ, died peacefully on February 18, 2014, in the Arbor Glen-Holly Health Center Assisted Living in Bridgewater. A memorial service was held on Sunday, February 23, 2014, at 2:00 PM at the Menorah Chapels at Millburn, 2950 Vauxhall Rd., Union (Vauxhall), NJ. Pauline was born in Brooklyn, NY. She attended New York University
for one year before moving to Philadelphia, PA, to attend Temple University, where she obtained her bachelor's degree. She also attended the University of Pennsylvania, where she obtained her master's degree in social service. Pauline remained in Philadelphia, where she married and raised her family, and worked for the Philadelphia school system as a high school guidance counselor. She retired to Florida in 1980 and returned to Bridgewater, NJ around 2002. Pauline was a member of ORT (Organization for Rehabilitation through Training) and Hadassah. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of over 50 years, Nathan. She is survived by her daughter, Trina Frankel and her son-in-law, Jeffrey, and her son, Neil P. Newstein and her daughter-in-law, Jenni; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
