GEORGE, Jr., Richard John

Richard John George, Jr., died on June 30, 2013, in Palm Beach Gardens. He was born January 16, 1937 to Richard John George and Alice Kane George of Pelham Manor, NY. He attended Lawrenceville, graduated from Duke University and Cumberland Law School and then joined the FBI. In the early 1960s he was Legal Counsel for McCormick traveling overseas, using his French fluency to negotiate the contract for the first plastic top for their spices. He moved to Merrill Lynch in 1966 as the 11th Stock Broker in the Palm Beach, FL office. He worked for Prudential Bache before finishing his professional career in Real Estate. In his youth he was a 3 handicap golfer, played for the Duke golf team, and tied for 1st in a National Father Son Golf tournament. He loved sports and fishing. He is survived by his daughter Alice George Stephenson and grandson Christopher George Stephenson of Shrewsbury, MA and some cherished friends like Carroll "Yunk" Youngkin who stood by him for more than 60 years.
