CASTLE, Sr., Robert A.
Age 82, of Lake Worth, FL, passed away June 17, 2013. Mr. Castle was the third child of the late L. Eleanor Maginnis and George S. Castle, Sr. Upon Robert graduating from Lawrence High School, Lawrence, MA in 1948, he enlisted in the United States Army
where he served duties in Korea. He was a member of the 185th combat engineers, serving TDY at 10th corps headquarters, plotting maps for air drops to isolated units in combat. Mr. Castle served 24 years with the U.S postal service delivering mail from the Riviera Beach branch. He was a member of branch 1690 letter carrier union, where he served as a shop steward, Vice President and President. Mr. Castle is survived by a brother, John Castle; a sister, Eleanor MacLauchlan (Thomas); four daughters, Robin Minter (Larry), Patricia Jacobs (Lex), Kelli Hossain and Georgegina Abednego; two sons, Robert A. Castle, Jr. (Cindi) and Colby Castle; 19 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, George S. Castle, Jr.; great-grandson, A'rmante Williams; a daughter, Mercedes Castle, Addie Jean Crometie (mother of Mercedes and Colby) and Readie Robinson, a loving and faithful companion of 15 years. Robert's Life will be celebrated Saturday, June 22, 2013, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Royal Palm Funeral Home, 5601 Greenwood Avenue, West Palm Beach, FL.
