Robert Friedman

Jupiter town councilman Robert Friedman has passed away.

A three-term councilman who first was elected in 2005, Mr. Friedman, 71, had served on the town's Planning and Zoning Commission and was appointed vice-mayor in 2007.

A long-time architect who graduated from the University of Illinois, Mr. Friedman was involved professionally with a variety of architectural committees and organizations.

He also was a vice president of Florida Atlantic University responsible for overseeing the design and construction of seven campuses, and served five years with the South Florida Water Management District.
