RODRIGO M. (ROD) ASUNCION Age 95 of Lake Worth, FL passed away at his residence on Tuesday, June 27, 2006. Known as Papa, Rod was born on August 20, 1910 in Laoag City, Ilocos Norte, Philippines, the son of Hermogenes Asuncion and Eufemia Miguel. Rod and his beloved first wife immigrated to the United States in the late 1960s where he worked as a Property Damage Claims Examiner for the Empire Mutual Insurance Company in New York. After the death of his first wife, Rod married his beloved Lettie in 1981. They lived in New Jersey and then moved to Florida in 1984. Rod was preceded in death by his first wife of over 40 years, Exaltacion Acacio Nagtalon Asuncion. He is survived by his second wife of 25 years, Lettie Robles Asuncion; children (and their spouses), Zenie Ronquillo (Ted), Rey Asuncion (Daisy Mae), Ross Asuncion (Aurora), Prosper Baum (Michael) and Ellie Punjavilasluck (Komol); 15 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren; and niece, Patricia Asuncion. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Rod on Monday, July 3, 2006 at 10:00 AM at St. Matthew Catholic Church, 6090 Hypoluxo Road, Lake Worth. Entombment will take place at Queen of Peace Catholic Cemetery, Royal Palm Beach. Friends and family may call at the TILLMAN FUNERAL HOME, 2170 South Military Trail, West Palm Beach on Sunday, July 2, 2006 from 2-4 and 7-9:00 PM with prayers at 7:30 PM.
