GARNER, Jr., Roosevelt "Clarence"

87 years old, a native of West Palm Beach, died July 6, 2013, of natural causes related to heart failure. After graduating from Palm Beach High School in 1942 Clarence enlisted in the Navy and worked as an electrician's mate on a weather ship in the Pacific theatre during World War II. After the war he returned home to find employment with the city of West Palm Beach in the street lighting department. He was a proud 62 year member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. He retired from the city of West Pam Beach in 1987. He was an avid hunter who spent many days hunting and fishing in the woods and wetlands bordering the Everglades' Great Cypress Swamp. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Rosemary Garner, nee Hanlon, and three sons, David, Roy, and Leon. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, July 9, 2013 at QUATTLEBAUM FUNERAL HOME, 1201 South Olive Avenue, West Palm Beach.
