BETHEA, Wayne Thomas "Tom"

Wayne Thomas "Tom" Bethea, 72, of Palatka, FL, passed away Saturday, June 21, 2014, at his residence. Tom was a native of West Palm Beach and had been a resident of Palatka for the past 38 years, coming from Cocoa. He served honorably in the United States Navy. He was a 1960 graduate of the Palm Beach High School and attended First Baptist Church of West Palm Beach. In 1998 he retired as a plant manager in East Palatka, FL after 28 years of service with FPL. He was an active member of the Peniel Baptist Church near Palatka. Preceding him in death were his parents, Chet and Laura Bethea. Surviving are his wife, Elizabeth Bethea of Palatka; a son and daughter-in-law, Patrick and Nikki Bethea of Marianna; two daughters and sons-in-law, Carrie and Richie Esposito of New Port Richey, and Erin and Craig Kern of Clermont; a brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Elaine Bethea of Franklinton, NC; a sister and brother-in-law, Kathy and Dennis Moseley of Bartow; and eight grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Friday, June 27th at Masters Funeral Home in Palatka. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Saturday, June 28th at Peniel Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Peniel Cemetery with military honors bestowed by the United States Navy. Memorial gifts may be sent to Peniel Baptist Church, 5227 Silver Lake Drive, Palatka, FL 32177.
