Ying Xian SHI

SHI, Ying Xian

Ying Xian Shi passed away on March 5, 2014. She was born in Wujiang County of Jiangsu Province, China. She was instrumental in the development of fusion cell technology. She devoted her life to promote science and technology exchange between China and US. She was senior research associate at Sloan-Kettering Institute, research associate at University of Texas at Austin, research biologist at The University of North Carolina and then at North Carolina State University where she retired in late 1999. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Professor Chao Chen Wang, three daughters, Siyan, Siping, and Siming, three grandsons, and two granddaughters. A visitation will be held on Monday, March 10, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, at Aycock-Riverside Funeral and Cremation Center.
