BAXLEY, Vivian Mae
92, passed away from natural causes September 6, 2016, at her home in Greenacres, FL. She was born December 8th, 1923 in Cleveland, OH to R E Lang and Rebecca Jane (Hetherington) Lang. She was married to Ray R. Baxley from 1944 to 1970. She lived in PBCo since 1949, after living at the U.S. Naval base in Key West, FL. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in WPB. She graduated from Case Institute of Technology in Cleveland, OH. During World War II she worked for the U.S. Army map service as a cartographer creating detailed and accurate maps for the troops deployed in Europe. She also drew a syndicated comic strip for the Cleveland Plain Dealer and the Stars and Stripes newspapers. She worked to provide high reliability electronics parts to the Space Shuttle and retired in 1989 as a Senior Quality Control inspector. Vivian is survived by four children, Karen Baxley of MD, Gary Baxley (Sharon) of CO, Carole Fink (Michael) of FL and Gayle Fortner (Danny) of NC. She also is survived by 8 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. Graveside service, Fri. Sept. 23, 1:00 PM, Hillcrest Memorial Park 6411 Parker Ave, WPB, FL.
