Age 91, of North Palm Beach, Florida, died Tuesday, December 11, 2012. Coming from Portland, Maine, Catherine had lived here with her husband Eustace (Steve) Photos since 1975. Over their 49-year marriage, Catherine was business partners with her husband, last as franchisers for The McDonalds Restaurants Corporation in Maine. She was born Catherine Kondili on April 27, 1921, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Father Mark Kondili and Presvitera Kalypso Mexi Kondili. Catherine was proud to have attended Girls High in Philadelphia, PA. After her husband?s death, she returned to school and obtained her degree with Honors from Palm Beach State College at the age of 89, where she also received a Special Recognition Award for Most Outstanding Non-Traditional Student. She was an active member of the Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society and a charter member of the Dream It Do it Organization at the Eissey Campus of PBSC. She was continuing her studies at Florida Atlantic University Honors College when she fell ill. In her spare time, she volunteered with the Salvation Army and St. Catherine?s Greek Orthodox Church. Catherine was predeceased by her son John Mark Photos. She is survived by her daughters, Ilene Photos of Cabin John, MD, and Victoria Photos of Vienna, VA, several nieces and nephews and grand-nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her wonderful friends from PBSC, the bridge group at Old Port Cove and St. Catherine?s Greek Orthodox Church. Friends may call from 5 to 7pm on Friday, December 14, 2012 at Howard-Price Funeral Home, 754 US Highway 1, North Palm Beach, FL. Funeral Services will be held in Maryland where she will be interred with her husband and son. The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made in her son?s name to the Leukemia Society of America, 2090 Palm Beach Lakes Blvd., Suite 302, West Palm Beach, FL, 33409. Arrangements are under the direction of the Howard-Price Funeral Home, North Palm Beach, FL.
