58 years old, of Palm Beach, Florida died peacefully on August 14, 2013 at Hospice of Palm Beach, after an extended illness. Born in West Palm Beach on July 19, 1955, Elizabeth is survived by her husband, William W. Atterbury III, children, Story A. Cowles of West Palm Beach, Katherine ( "Kallie") C. Atterbury of Palm Beach and step-daughters, Emily B. Atterbury of New Orleans, LA, and Elizabeth S. Atterbury of Portland, ME. Additional survivors include her sisters Marjorie R. Moore of West Palm Beach, Anne B. Green of Greenwich, CT, Nicole R. Fanjul of Palm Beach, Katrina R. Morgan of Biltmore Forest, NC, Eva R. Gourley of Charlotte, NC, Beatrice E. Benjamin of Woodacre, CA, Alexandra R. Benjamin of Taos, NM, brothers William E. Benjamin III of West Palm Beach, Christopher M. Benjamin of Austin, TX and Randall Redfield of Denver, CO, step-parents, William E. Benjamin II, Maura Benjamin and Jane Redfield, and many nieces and nephews. Elizabeth received a bachelors of fine arts degree in Landscape Architecture and Sculpture from the Rhode Island School of Design. For several years she owned and operated her own fine art consulting and design business in West Palm Beach and was active in various landscape and streetscape beautification programs with the City of West Palm Beach. In recent years she divided her time between her family and her interest in photography and painting. Elizabeth was a long time member of Bethesda-by-the-Sea Episcopal Church, where she served as a Lay Eucharistic Minister and as a Stephen Minister. Elizabeth will be long remembered for her love of family and friends, her free-spirited, playful personality and her love of adventure. A Funeral Service will be held at 3:30 PM on Saturday, August 24, 2013 at Bethesda-by-the Sea Church, 141 South County Road, Palm Beach.
