Obituary Condolences

BROMBERG, Harriet Epstein

90, passed away May 6 in Lantana, FL. Harriet was born July 20, 1922 in Hartford, CT. She was predeceased by her husband of 61 years, David "Dubby" Bromberg, her twin brother Herbert Epstein and brother Lester Epstein. Harriet and Dubby were married in 1948 and spent most of their life in West Hartford, CT before retiring to Florida in the 1990s. Harriet was a loving wife, mother, daughter and sister, and a loyal and generous friend. She was an avid tennis player, enjoying summers at Suburban Swim and Racquet Club (Bloomfield, CT) before moving to the Indian Springs community in Boynton Beach. Another source of friendship and competition over her life was Bridge - whether with the life-long friends who were part of her Wednesday Bridge Club in West Hartford, or the friends she made later in life at Indian Springs and Vi at Lakeside in Lantana Florida. Harriet and Dubby were most proud of their three children and their families: daughter Roberta Bowman and husband Andrew from Charlotte, NC; daughter Nancy Bromberg and Dr. Steve Klein of West Islip, NY; and son Mark Bromberg and wife Jutta of Plano, TX, and Mark's children, Jenna Bromberg of Kansas City, MO, Michael Bromberg of Revelstoke, British Columbia and his fiance, Sara Darval of Willmar, MN. She also leaves a sister-in-law, Elaine Epstein. The family deeply appreciated Harriet's many friends from West Hartford and Florida who added so much richness to her life, especially Soozee Saltzman who visited her regularly. And, we are grateful to Donna Agnes, Sharon Bennett and Stacy Thomas, who allowed Harriet to live independently in her final years, providing expert advice, care and compassion as her health declined. Friends are invited to join family in an informal gathering on Thursday, May 9 from 3 - 4 pm at Vi at Lakeside Village, 2792 Donnelly Drive, Lantana, FL. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the David and Harriet Bromberg Scholarship Fund at Trinity College, 300 Summit St, Hartford, CT 06106 or to the organization of the donor's choice.
