Obituary Condolences


Janek "Guy" Gaidukowski, 93, of Palm Beach Gardens, passed peacefully on March 17, 2013. Survived by his beloved wife Eleonore; daughter Irene; twin grandchildren Christine and William, many cherished family and friends. Born in Poland, Janek had a difficult youth. During World War II, his family was eliminated and he was left alone, taken into the Russian Army. Later he was able to immigrate to America where he met his wife in New York City. He was the VP of Manufacturing & Engineering for several International Companies. Retiring and moving to Florida, he immersed himself in his life Passion and Hobby, Bridge. Janek had an incredible mind and was greatly respected for his intense aptitude for the game. He went on to establish several Bridge Clubs as well as teach. He became a celebrity in the Bridge world also writing for Bridge magazines. Those close to him knew him as a family man, kind, generous and loving. He had a thirst for knowledge and life that has been described as unparalleled. The beauty of Janek could be seen by simply looking into his eyes. He had an ability to read people and attend to their needs. With his gentle smile and open heart, he touched the lives of many. A fighter, a survivor, a lover of life and family, Janek will be greatly missed. His family takes comfort in the faith he held so dear and knows he is in God's kingdom. A memorial service will be held on Friday, April 12 at 11:00 AM, First Presbyterian Church, 717 Prosperity Farms Road, North Palm Beach. Inurnment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Personal Touch, 9530 Hall Blvd, West Palm Beach, FL 33412 an Assisted Living Facility owned by Allison Jacobs.
