Age 69 of Old Town, FL passed away on Monday November 5, 2012 in Chiefland, FL. He was born January 11, 1943 in Montgomery, West Virginia. He served in the United States Navy and then in the United States Army Reserve. John worked at Pratt & Whitney/United Technologies for 30 years, retiring in December 2000 and moving to Old Town, FL in Dixie County. John loved the outdoors and was an avid Air Boater in the Everglades, fishing, hunting and he also loved working in his barn. He was a member of the Elks Lodge #1352 for 26 years. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Dorine Peak Walker; three children, Jodi Michelle Meek of Dunnellon, FL, Julie Lynn Videll, and her husband, Hannu of Palm Beach Gardens, FL and John Perry Walker, II of Loxahatchee, FL; six grandchildren, Darcy and Kyle Meek, Shawn and Nicklas Videll, Emma and John ?Dalton? Walker; his brother, Harvey DeWayne Walker of Eutawville, SC. There will be a memorial service in Loxahatchee, FL at a later date, and his ashes will be scattered over the Everglades, where he loved to run his airboat. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Haven Hospice, 311 NE 9th St., Chiefland, FL 32626.
