QUARANTA, John J.

In loving memory of John J. Quaranta, 81, who passed on January 26, 2014. John "Papa" was born in Bronx, NY, lived in Monroe, NY and retired to Palm Beach, FL over 20 years ago. He proudly served in the US Navy during the Korean War, placed his life on the line serving others as a NYC Firefighter (Engine #45). John loved music, tennis, camping and being with his family. He is survived by his wife, sister Julianne Agapito, son Johnny Jr. and wife Diane, daughter Diane and David, and daughter Laura. He had 5 grandchildren: Jeffrey and wife Stacy, Joey and Aimee, Justin, Jenna and Sarah; two great granddaughters: Mary and Emilia; several nieces and nephews. A special mass will be held on Wednesday, February 5, 2014 at Holy Name of Jesus Church, 345 South Military Trail, West Palm Beach, FL 33415 at 2:00 pm, to celebrate life, for family and friends. John's family request in lieu of flowers donations be made to American Cancer Society at www.cancer.org or mail to PO Box 22718 Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718 (1-800-227-2345).
