Josy Wiener, passed away to join her husband, the late Benjamin Wiener on April 18, 2013. An outspoken curmudgeon, Josy Wiener, was born and went to school in Berlin, Germany until her family escaped persecution under the Nazi regime by immigrating to Santiago, Chile. Josy came to the United States where she became a licensed cosmetologist working in a number of cities and in Havana, Cuba, for Neiman Marcus. Josy met "the love of her life" Ben Wiener. They lived in Miami Shores, FL and shared a life filled with exotic travel, golf, and shell collecting. Josy owned and operated Bejo Beauty Salon in North Miami, FL and was active with her husband with State Hardware store in Miami. They were active in the Miami Shores Country Club, supported the Shriners, belonged to the Greater Miami Shell Club. The couple relocated to Boynton Beach, FL and became active in the Broward Shell Club. They won numerous shell contests, created a shell themed home decorations, and each of them wore a different matching shell costume at annual Conchology meetings and conferences. She is survived by her sister, Lilo Layton, and numerous nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, May 3, 2013 at 11:00 AM, at Boynton Leisureville Club House. In accordance with her wishes, Josy's ashes will join those of her late husband Ben, and released into the Gulfstream. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to (shell club or Shriners).
