Obituary Condolences

Leo A. Corby (12/18/17 to 6/25/13) was raised in Hibbing, Minnesota where his parents Lauri and Lempi taught him the importance of the Finnish value of "SISU" or guts, patience, and courage. After serving in the United States Army in W.W. II, Uncle Leo worked as a civil engineer as Director of Plant Services for the University of Illinois. Uncle Leo was a devoted husband and faithful caregiver to his beloved wives Thelma Rose Corby, Marsha Peterman Corby, and Alice Lowrey Corby who all passed away holding Uncle Leo's hands. Uncle Leo also was an avid reader of the books written by his beloved sister Laura Corby who also predeceased him. Uncle Leo is survived by nephews and nieces Timothy Rowe, George Rowe, Bonnie Rowe, Martha Rowe and Michael Rowe and also by his beautiful step-daughters Beverly Lowrey and Mary Marshall. Uncle Leo also leaves behind his adopted nephew, "Best Buddy", and caregiver Hugh Ostrow as well as many others who loved his smile that could melt any sadness or gloom away.
