VAGELL, Jr., Theodore "Ted" Peter

Theodore "Ted" Peter Vagell, Jr., passed away in his sleep at home during the early morning of October 5, 2013. Mr. Vagell died peacefully after battling pancreatic cancer for 10 months. A full time resident and member of The Loxahatchee Club in Jupiter, FL and a former resident of Watchung, NJ, he was 79. Born on July 11, 1934 in Garfield, NJ, Mr. Vagell was the first son of Theodore P. Vagell, Sr. and Mary Vagell. He attended Lehigh University studying Civil Engineering. He served his country as veteran of the Army stationed at Fort Dix, NJ. Mr. Vagell was married to his high school sweetheart, Josephine Ann Mammola Vagell, for 56 years. He is survived by his wife, their two children, Debra (David) Vagell Hornbeck of Stuart, FL and Douglas Vagell of Easton, PA, and four grandchildren; Daniel Charles Savas II, Corey Lyn Savas, Susan Kathleen Vagell, and Theodore James Vagell. He is also survived by his brother Peter M. Vagell of Southport, NC. Mr. Vagell was the retired Chairman and C.E.O. of ProcessFlo, Inc. headquartered in Easton, PA. Prior to that he served as the Chairman, President and C.E.O. of Plastic Piping Systems until the business was sold in 1984. He was active in trade organizations and served as a past President of the National Association of Plastic Distributors. Mr. Vagell also served on the boards of numerous corporations as well as the Plainfield Country Club and The Loxahatchee Country Club, and enjoyed advising many young entrepreneurs with their ventures. The family will receive friends and family on Friday, October 11th from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at Taylor & Modeen Funeral Home located at 250 Center Street, Jupiter, FL 33458. A funeral mass will be held at St. Patricks Catholic Church at 11:00 AM on Saturday October 12th, 13591 Prosperity Farms Road, Palm Beach Gardens, FL 33410. In lieu of flowers, donations can be to Hospice of Palm Beach County, 5300 East Avenue, West Palm Beach, FL 33407.
