Anthony J. D'Aria, Sr., born on February 28, 1926 in Manhattan to Jenny and Emil D'Aria, passed peacefully on February 18, 2014, surrounded by his family. Mr. D'Aria is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years, Marilyn Weinz D'Aria, and his four loving children, Scott W. Allen of North Palm Beach, FL, Christopher J. Allen of West Harrison, NY, Cynthia D'Aria and her long-time partner, Derek Prentice, of Palm Beach Gardens, FL, and Anthony D'Aria, Jr. and daughter-in-law, Andrea Proietti D'Aria of Pleasantville, NY. After attending PS 12 and Christopher Columbus High School in the Bronx, Mr. D'Aria began his career as a plumbing apprentice under the tutelage of his father, Emil. He built D'Aria Plumbing and Heating into a city-wide success, installing plumbing in Co-Op City in the Bronx between 1968 - 1971. After retiring from the plumbing business, Mr. D'Aria served as a building inspector for the Town of Mt. Vernon, NY. He was also employed as an HVAC specialist for Pace University (NY), Yonkers Hospital (NY), the Westchester County (NY) Center, and Manhattanville College (NY). In addition to his great love for his family, Mr. D'Aria had a special fondness for dogs, including his special pal Roxy, the Bronx, and the New York Yankees; a gift for story-telling; and a love of traveling, having traveled across most of America, Europe and the world with his wife and family.
